WVU Tech Community Members Graduate from Leadership Beckley Class of 2025

|

West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech) proudly recognizes members of its campus community who have graduated as part of the Class of 2025 of the Leadership Beckley program.

Leadership Beckley is a premier community leadership development program designed to enhance participants’ understanding of local issues, strengthen leadership skills, and foster meaningful engagement throughout the Beckley and Raleigh County region. Through this experience, participants build lasting connections while gaining insight into the challenges and opportunities shaping the community.

This year’s graduating class marks a significant milestone for WVU Tech. Among the graduates are three students who represent the first WVU Tech students to participate in the Leadership Beckley program:

• Gracie Beaver, Psychology
• Logan Oliver, Information Systems
• Lucas Sabbadin, Business Management

Gracie, Logan, and Lucas joined one WVU Tech faculty member and three staff members in this year’s cohort, reflecting a strong, campus-wide commitment to community engagement and leadership development.

“Having students like Gracie, Logan, and Lucas participate in Leadership Beckley has a significant impact on our community. Their involvement bridges the gap between academic learning and civic leadership, fostering a vital connection between our future professionals and the local business landscape. I am grateful to help facilitate this bridge and look forward to continuing our partnership with WVU Tech for future classes,” said Alyce K. Almond, Chair of the Leadership Beckley Committee.

“WVU Tech is committed to developing the next generation of community-minded leaders,” said Dan Sepion, Dean of Students at WVU Tech. “Our students’ success in Leadership Beckley underscores the relationship between our university and the city; we appreciate that the city has provided an experience that has been so meaningful to our students.”
