GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Information about requirements for graduation and other Academic Affairs details
can be found in the degree regulations section of the WVU Tech catalog. If you have questions
related to graduation requirements, academic records, etc., contact your academic advisor or the Registrar's

ARRIVAL TIME FOR SENIORS
Graduating seniors should report to the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center starting at 8:30am on May 9.
CAP AND GOWNS
Cap and gowns can be purchased through the bookstore.
Contact the bookstore or visit them in the Learning Commons to purchase.
DECORATING GRAD CAPS
Graduates are more than welcome to decorate their caps (mortarboards). This is
a great part of the commencement tradition. Keep in mind that these are representing
you as you graduate and could be seen in photos and the livestream. Have fun
with it!
HONOR CORDS AND STOLES
Honor cords and stoles are provided by the Registrar's Office at the event the
morning of Commencement when you check in. These items are provided at no charge
to the graduates.
GRADUATION PHOTOS
Get a coupon for GradImages if you
pre-register. Other photos are available on our
Flickr account.
GRADUATE PLACEMENT SURVEY

LIVE STREAM
We will live stream the event via Youtube, which will be linked from
wvutech.edu/commencement. The livestream will be archived on our
YouTube channel.
ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS
Accessibility requests for graduates or their guests must be submitted in advance by email to
tech-commencement@mail.wvu.edu. If you have not yet requested accessibility
accommodations, please do so by
April 30. Those with accessibility needs (along with ONE other guest)
will be permitted to sit in the accessible seating area.
NOTE: There is a separate parking area for those who are going to be seated in
the accessible seating. That parking area is noted on our parking map.
SENIOR CELEBRATION
Graduating seniors are invited to celebrate with our entire Golden Bear community by attending the 2026 Graduating Senior Celebration held on
Fri. May 8 at 5pm in Neville Auditorium. Graduating seniors can
learn more and register online here. Registration is required by April 22.
GUESTS
There are no limits on the number of guests that a graduate can invite and tickets
will not be required for entrance for graduates or guests this year. Please encourage your guests to arrive early to find parking. This event causes heavy traffic and there may be delays. The ceremony will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m.
