Tristen Brogan
Computer ScienceTristen is from Vienna, WV and is currently working for WVU Medicine as a software developer. He says he plans to continue in this role after graduation.
What is your favorite memory from your time at WVU Tech?
I played soccer all four years. One of my favorite memories was going out with my friends last year to celebrate the seniors before they graduated.
What did you enjoy most about your computer science program?
The small, personable classes where you got to know your professors.
How did Tech prepare you for the future?
It has really given me a foundation to learn. When I went to my internship, I did not know how everything worked, but the foundation I had from my classes allowed me to learn and adapt in my actual job.
Which person at Tech has had the biggest impact on your college experience? How has that person helped you?
Dr. Munasinghe. Rather than just passing the class, he made sure you understood the concepts at a fundamental level. He is always available in and out of class for support, too.
As a soon-to-be graduate, what is your best advice for incoming students?
If you come to Tech with a major and you are not enjoying it, find what you enjoy and pick your major based on that. If you do not enjoy your major, you are not going to enjoy your college experience. Find something about the major you enjoy and pursue it.
What will you miss most about Tech?
The people.
