Engineer and educator: Legacy of Dr. Swami preserved in $85,000 scholarship

There’s a thirty year period running from the late sixties to the mid-nineties where students in WVU Tech’s civil engineering program worked alongside a rare breed of professor. His name was Dr. Shanmugam Armugam Swami – he went by S.A., or simply “Swami” – and his legacy as a dedicated educator has been honored in the form of a newly established scholarship.

How to get to know a campus

They say there’s no better way to get to know a place than to see it for yourself, and that mindset has been driving students of all ages to WVU Tech’s Beckley campus over the last year.

Fulbright Scholarship Program information sessions to be hosted on campus December 4

On Monday, December 4, WVU Tech students, faculty and administrators will have a chance to learn more about the Fulbright Program, where students, professors and professionals can earn scholarships to study or conduct research abroad.

Mr. Grant Stream-Gonzalez, Outreach and Recruitment Analyst at the Institute of International Education, will be on campus for a number of information sessions.
