Please take time to acquaint or reacquaint yourself with the Inclement Weather Delays/Closure Policy Supervisors are reminded to identify their essential personnel in anticipation of weather-related delays or closures. Employees should discuss questions about this policy with their supervisor. Students should discuss any questions with the Dean of Students

NOTE REGARDING DELAYS: Classes that begin and end within the cancellation period will not meet. Classes that begin during the cancellation period but end after the cancellation period will meet for the duration of class not covered by the cancellation. For example, when classes are cancelled until 10:00 a.m. (as such with a two-hour delay), a class that is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. would meet from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Additionally, classes that occur before the delayed start time of 10:00 a.m. (for instance, an 8:00 a.m. or 9:00 a.m. class) would not occur that day and students would only attend the classes that are occurring at 10:00 a.m. and after. It does not shift the earlier classes to a later time in the day. For more information about delays and closures, review the Inclement Weather Delays/Closure Policy.

Reminder about Notifications of Cancellations and Closures :

Official notifications from the institution regarding cancellations or closures will be posted on the WVU Tech home page at wvutech.edu; distributed via email to University-managed (Outlook/MIX) email accounts and Tech alert registered email accounts; and distributed via text messages through Tech Alert to registered telephone accounts. Closure information may be communicated by media outlets but the official announcement will be those messages that are shared directly by the institution.
