Dr. Zahmeeth S. Sakkaff is a computational research scientist, machine learning expert, and educator with nearly two decades of experience advancing data-driven discovery and seven years of university teaching across AI, machine learning, big data, and computer science. She has led high-impact, interdisciplinary research at Argonne National Laboratory and the University of Chicago’s CASE, where she designed AI-powered experimental pipelines, built large-scale biological data models, and automated high-throughput computational workflows—bridging computing with the life sciences and intelligent systems.

Recognized with competitive grant success and multiple best paper and best poster awards, she brings a distinguished record of cross-domain collaboration and research excellence. As an Assistant Professor at WVU Tech, she unites rigorous computational methods with student-centered teaching, mentorship, open source innovation, and STEM outreach—preparing the next generation of scientists and engineers to work at the intersection of computing, biology, and intelligent systems, and to translate algorithms into real-world impact across disciplines.
