Dr. Cameron Rusnak joined the Department of Civil Engineering at WVU Tech in 2025. He received his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Ohio Northern University in 2017, followed by his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Akron in 2019 and 2022. After completing his doctorate, he served as a postdoctoral research scholar at the University of Nevada, Reno, before holding a faculty appointment at Lincoln University of Missouri.

At WVU Tech, Dr. Rusnak teaches courses in structural engineering, including statics, mechanics of materials, and drafting. His research focuses on the design and analysis of structures subjected to natural hazards, with particular interest in earthquake engineering, fatigue behavior, and post-buckling response of structural components. He also incorporates finite element analysis (FEA) in his work to improve and optimize design practices. Additional areas of interest include the rehabilitation and strengthening of existing structures, as well as the development of sustainable composite materials for construction applications.
