Kyle Holliday
Electrical EngineeringKyle has secured a job with AEP after graduation, which was always his goal. He’ll be working with AEP in Roanoke.
What is your favorite memory from your time at WVU Tech?
Studying for exams with my group of friends, we would all get together and study for big exams and work on homework together, so just hanging out with my friends and learning.
What did you enjoy most about the electrical engineering program?
I love that it’s a small campus, and in turn, have a closer bond with your professors. I enjoyed that tight bond I have with my professors that helped you be more involved in earning your degree.
How did Tech prepare you for the future?
Every company I’ve interviewed with has asked me how I work with a group or with a team, and so many of our class projects have been group-based. I’ve really had to learn how to work in a group.
Which person at Tech has had the biggest impact on your college experience? How has that person helped you?
Dr. Hatipoglu. He’s a very good professor and the way he teaches is great. Dr. Litchfield has also had a great impact on me because he’s involved me in so many different projects and travel, like to Undergraduate Research Day at the Captial.
As a soon-to-be graduate, what is your best advice for incoming students?
Form a good relationship with the people around you. Have a good support system so you can have a better knit group to study for exams and help with homework.
What will you miss most about Tech?
I’ll miss the clubs, because I was involved in the Hydropulley Club. I was also involved with the Robotics Club and we travelled. I helped build robots and control them in competitions. I’ll miss being involved in clubs after I graduate!
