WVU Tech to close Monday, December 10

Winter Storm Diego has made its presence felt in southern West Virginia. Although the storm is scheduled to pass through the area by midnight, treacherous road conditions are anticipated for another 24 hours.

Out of concern for the safety of our faculty, staff and students, WVU Tech will be closed on Monday, December 10 beginning at 12 AM. Essential employees (those in facilities, university police, dining services, housing) will be contacted by their supervisor with additional information regarding the work schedule for tomorrow. All dining services employees already scheduled to work tomorrow should report to work. Units with existing emergency closure protocols should follow those. Employees with questions or concerns should contact their supervisor. Every effort will be made to maintain the library’s finals week schedule. The campus is scheduled to reopen fully at 6 AM on Tuesday, December 11.

One effect of this decision is that final examinations scheduled for Monday will be rescheduled. Faculty will receive a separate message as to some available options. Students who have exams scheduled will receive guidance from their professor during the day Monday about where and when the exam will be held. Exams scheduled for Tuesday through Friday will be held as planned.
