Tech Madness to celebrate Golden Bear athletics

Tech madness

Tech Madness will return to campus on Monday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Van Meter Gym.

Laura Spiers, teaching instructor in the Department of Sport Studies, Sport Studies Club advisor and coordinator for the event, said it’s a great way to celebrate the winter sports season.

“This event kicks off winter athletic teams and celebrates successful athletes and coaches from the previous year. For students, it is an opportunity for all students to come out and participate, have fun and support our athletic community here at WVU Tech,” she said.

The event brings in hundreds of students to watch a dunk contest, a three-point shootout and a half-court shot competition. Students can also participate in relay races and a costume contest for prizes.

“Our WVU Tech Sport Studies Club has worked very hard to put on this event and we appreciate all the support from coaches, the forensics club and the cheer and softball team volunteers we have for this event,” said Spiers.
