Maclin Residence Hall

Year Two

Edward S. Maclin Hall re-opened in August 2007, as a residence hall for students, after being used for other purposes for 10 years. We are extremely happy to have Maclin Hall back as a residence hall. It was originally built in 1938 and the wings were added in 1953. The 2007 renovation turned an old building into a new one. The entrance to Maclin Hall will be from the courtyard on the west wing. There will be a check in desk at that location. All students and guests will enter from this point. Maclin Hall will house about 50 females and 140 males.

The two wings of Maclin Hall will be all private rooms and single sex occupancy by floor. The middle section of the building will have multiple suites. These suites will have two double rooms connected by a private bath. These suites will be single sex. There will be approximately 45 double rooms with attached bath, 100 single rooms, 9 hallway bathrooms, office space, a TV lounge, a computer lounge, a fitness room, a large recreation/lounge and a Director’s Apartment. The renovation included a new roof, elevator, complete re-wiring and new heating/cooling system added.

The student rooms will have internet, cable TV and telephone connections provided. All rooms will have tile floors that look like wood. Each wing floor will have a centrallylocated community bathroom. The 2nd floor will have an office, TV room, lounge, and meeting space. The 1st floor will have a wellness/fitness room (exercise machines), computer room, vending area, individual mailboxes, recreation room, and laundry room.

There will be a Quiet floor for the men and one for the women. Other special floors may be designated according to student needs.
