Housing Application Information
All high school seniors or college students not living on campus may apply for Tech housing at any time. After current students who reserve rooms have been assigned for fall housing, new student assignments are made. These assignments are made in the order that the Residence Life Office receives both the Housing Deposit ($100) and the Housing and Food Contract. The links below contain the terms of the Housing Contract, a printable Housing and Food Contract, the exemption form for freshmen and sophomore commuters, and a list of what to bring. Housing application process.
- Complete your Admissions Application to WVU Tech. (You must be admitted to Tech to apply for housing.)
- Read the above terms and print a Housing and Food Contract.
- Complete the Housing and Food Contract and mail it with a $100 deposit (make checks payable to WVU Tech) to

Upon receipt of your Housing and Food Contract and $100 deposit, the Residence Life Office will send you a receipt and welcome letter.
GENERAL HOUSING TIMETABLE
- Accept Housing contracts year round.
- March/April - current resident students fill out contracts and pay deposits for the next fall.
- June 1st - start making fall housing assignments for incoming students.
- About July 7 - Room assignment letters are mailed out.
- August 1 - Last day to cancel fall housing and get refund of deposit.
- August (early) - Residence Halls open for Tech Football pre-season camp
- August (middle) - Residence halls open. Move in from Thursday at 1 pm. to Sunday at 7 pm.
- November 20 - last day to cancel spring housing
- December 1 - Spring bills are sent
- December (middle) Spring semester assignments for new students and letters sent.
- January 30 - Housing deposit credited to Spring charges.
