WVU Tech Names New Director of Admissions

Montgomery, WV – Louis T. Levy, Ed.S. has been named Director of Admissions at WVU Institute of Technology. Levy is an administrator who has held several senior-level college administrative positions. Levy had served for the last three years as a Consultant in Postsecondary Assessment with ACT.

“Levy’s years of progressive responsibilities in all aspects of admission have given him an in-depth understanding of higher education and the challenges we face in today’s admission market,” says WVU Tech President Charles Bayless. “His leadership will be critical to advancing our recruitment efforts in the months and years ahead.”

Levy will be responsible for leading all aspects of the College’s student recruitment and selection activities.

“WVU Tech is a vibrant learning community, and I am honored to be a part of the team being assembled by President Bayless,” explained Levy.

Prior to his appointment at WVU Tech, Levy has held several admission positions at institutions similar to WVU Tech, including: Vice President of Enrollment Management at Tri-State University; Director of Admission at GMI-Engineering & Management Institute and Milwaukee School of Engineering; and Dean of Graduate and Undergraduate Admission at Florida Institute of Technology and Sonoma State University. He has also served as Dean of Admissions and Registrar at Austin Community College, and Dean of Students at Peru State College and the University of Wisconsin Center-Richland Center. Levy is also a Viet Nam Era Veteran.

Levy received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and completed his doctoral studies at Virginia Tech. He has also completed additional graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa, and Harvard University.
