WVU Tech STEM Academy for Girls

WVU Tech is excited to announce the return of the STEM Summer Academy for Girls, a five-day summer program for current and incoming female high school students interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. At the Academy, students from around the state gather on our Beckley campus for a week-long immersion in all things STEM.

About the AcademyThe week-long camp is held on WVU Tech's campus in Beckley, West Virginia and features a variety of STEM classes, special mini projects, field trips and female guest speakers from STEM professions.
Academy students will be able to take courses in computer science, chemistry, biology, mathematics and civil, electrical and biomedical engineering. There's something for everyone!
CostThe Academy costs $350, which covers all housing, meals, travel and activities for the week.
There are full and partial need-based scholarships available for students who qualify. Students should complete the scholarship portion of the general application if they wish to apply for an Academy scholarship.
Academy Instructors and CounselorsThe Academy's instructors are WVU Tech professors who are experts in the fields of engineering, mathematics, the basic sciences and forensic investigation. Our instructors will provide detailed lectures and demonstrations, work with students on mini projects and attend field trips.
