Getting Involved with the WVU Tech Campus
Student Organizations
The Student Government Association (SGA) consists of students chosen in campus-wide elections held each spring. One of the most important functions of the SGA is developing a budget for student activity fees. SGA also appoints student representatives to serve on faculty committees that deal with all aspects of campus life.
The WVU Tech Greek organizations provide a variety of social activities and gatherings. Five fraternities and two sororities maintain active chapters on campus.
Student Publications
WVU Tech offers student publications including the Tech Collegian and IMAGE.
The Tech Collegian is a weekly newspaper operating under the direction of a Student Publications Advisor and the Student Publications Advisory Committee. All stories, photographs, and news articles are supplied by students, faculty, and administration.
IMAGE, sponsored by the Department of English, is a literary anthology consisting of student creative writings, and is published every spring.
Student Creative Arts
The Department of Creative Arts provides a wide variety of activities including theatre, choir, and band.
The WVU Tech Players presents two productions each year ranging from dramas to musicals. Tryouts are open to any student on campus.
The Concert Choir is the major choral organization for WVU Tech. It makes at least one major tour and a smaller tour during the year plus performances
on campus and in the local area. Membership is open to all interested singers.
The WVU Tech Band performs at home football and basketball games as well as rallies. Participation is open to all students who play any type of musical instrument.
