  1. How would you describe your need for this class?

    2. High - I really need this class this semester
    Medium - I could take this class another time
    Low - I don’t really need this class

  2. Which best describes your situation?

    3. I have a long commute and/or work schedule that makes it difficult for me to get to class
    I sometimes have trouble getting to class because of the commute or my work schedule
    I live on campus and am a full-time student

  3. Which assignment schedule do you prefer?

    4. A few large projects with long deadlines and open-ended requirements
    A mix of long-term and short-term projects
    Weekly or daily assignments with very specific requirements from the instructor

  4. Which best indicates your attitude towards class attendance?

    5. I hate to miss class but may occasionally be absent due to emergencies, car trouble, etc.
    I usually go to class but don’t worry when I have to miss

    6. I read quickly and easily comprehend what I read
    I read fairly quickly but sometimes have to re-read material before I understand it

    7. I usually do well just reading written directions
    I like to have the instructor available in case I have questions about written directions
    I do better when the instructor explains any written directions

  7. How do you feel about contact with your instructor and fellow students?

    8. I need face-to-face interactions with the instructor and my fellow students
    I’d like to see the instructor periodically to ask questions and get feedback
    I’m fine as long as I know how to reach the instructor through email of over the phone

  8. How do you feel about using the internet for communication?

    9. I communicate well with email, in chat rooms, and on discussion boards
    I use email but I prefer phone calls or regular mail
    I have never used email

  9. Which best describes your attitude towards new technologies (computers, cell phones, etc.)?

    10. I like learning and using new technologies
    It takes me a while to become comfortable with new technologies
    I don’t like learning new technologies and am not comfortable with computers
